Plankfloor® and our Owens Select™ engineered hardwood flooring are more durable than solid wood. You can enjoy the beauty and warmth of a wood floor without the inherent problems. This is accomplished with innovative engineering that starts with fine hardwood lumber. Lumber is sawn into a wear surface that is comparable to solid wood flooring. The sawn wear surface, laminated with multiple plies of hardwood veneer, creates a dimensionally stable, engineered hardwood floor. The result looks and feels exactly like solid wood (while making better use of our forest resources).
The differences between manufacturers relate to variations in quality, which is defined by a grade. Owens Flooring Company™ focuses on manufacturing a consistent quality product and then differentiating the product by appearance. This allows you to focus on the desired appearance of your floor without compromising quality. If you are looking for a more uniform look, you would want to consider select grade flooring. You may define character as significant color variation without knots. Or you may think of character as requiring knots and some mechanically created marks in the flooring. Wood is a natural product. You will see some natural variation. That's the beauty of wood. The appeal and timeless look that adds to the distinction of your home.
Plankfloor® unfinished wood flooring provides you with more stain color and finish options. Owens Select™ factory finished wood flooring reduces your overall installation time and offers a state-of-the-art finish with the durability of aluminum oxide.
Plankfloor® and Owens Select™ can be installed directly to most approved subfloors. Depending on the glue bond quality of your vinyl flooring, it may be possible to glue Plankfloor® and Owens Select™ directly to your existing floor.
